Visitors are invited to enjoy a dram after sailing with "Whisky" the dolphin during the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival which runs from 28th April to the 2nd May. The Spirit of Speyside - Scotland's Whisky Festival - offers both visitors and locals over 200 events and activities over four days including many opportunities to enjoy the invigorating outdoors around the Speyside area.
This year visitors have the opportunity to take a thrilling trip along the Moray Firth Coast aboard the Yacht "Dolphinicity". On board the UK's most eco friendly marine wildlife watching operation, visitors can experience the adventure of sailing as well as the possibility of an encounter with some of the amazing wildlife found in Scottish waters including bottlenose dolphins, seals, whales and porpoise.
For those of us without sea legs, there are many other energising outdoor activity events to banish that hangover after one too many drams! Activities include golfing at Ballindalloch Castle Golf Course, fishing competitions, taster instruction sessions and demonstrations in curling, archery and falconry, or for the more adventurous quad biking at House of Mulben. Walking activities are also included in the packed programme of events, including a Flora and Fauna Walk along the Speyside Way, a Whisky and Wildlife Walk to Glenfiddich Distillery and The Smugglers' Trail Walk from the Glenlivet Distillery.
"Whisky the Dolphin" Cruises with SailingWild depart from Lossiemouth on Saturday 30th April, Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd May. To book telephone 01343 829244 or email tony@sailingwild.com, tickets cost £25. For further information on the Festival and to see the full range of events visit www.spiritofspeyside.com
